How do you change your world? One word at a time, one heart at a time

Laughter is one of the most precious things in life to me. Just being alive right now, with all the political unrest and unemployment stats, it can really get you down. But God says that a merry heart does good just like a medicine, and since I hate real medicine I’d rather do it His way. God is the original author of joy. He’s promised us the same. So waddaya say? Can we laugh a little together today? Norman Cousins got totally healed from a rare and deadly disease because he made it his mission in life to laugh. He was given a 1 in 500 chance of survival, and he lived another 26 years. Kids laugh 400 times a day, according to research, but adults? They only laugh 13 times on average. I’ve decided to make it one of my missions in life to change that, in as many ways as I can. Here are just a few of my fave quotes:

It was not a laugh but merely a loud smile ~Author Unknown

So many tangles in life are ultimately hopeless that we have no appropriate sword other than laughter ~Gordon W. Allport

Laughter and tears are both responses to frustration and exhaustion. I myself prefer to laugh, since there is less cleaning up to do afterward ~Kurt Vonnegut

A good time to laugh is any time you can ~Linda Ellerbee

With the fearful strain that is on me night and day, if I did not laugh I should die ~Abraham Lincoln

A good, real, unrestrained, hearty laugh is a sort of glorified internal massage, performed rapidly and automatically. It manipulates and revitalizes corners and unexplored crannies of the system that are unresponsive to most other exercise methods ~Author unknown

It is bad to suppress laughter. It goes back down to your hips ~Author Unknown

Seven days without laughter makes one weak ~Mort Walker

Laughter is the sun that drives winter from the human face ~Victor Hugo

Against the assault of laughter nothing can stand ~ Mark Twain

We do have a zeal for laughter in most situations, give or take a dentist ~Joseph Heller

If that doesn’t make you smile, try this:
– the Ken Davis videos couldn’t help but get me there.
Hope this day finds you laughing… and that I brightened that day somewhat.
If not then I’d like to volunteer to hug you till you feel better. This may take a while. I’ll bring snacks.
