The State of the Nation
Silence of the Lambs? I don’t think so. Not on my watch. Fall is upon us, friends, and for me it’s a time of reflection. Am I where I want to be, and is what I’m doing getting me where I want to go? Mmmm. Sometimes, I think not. I’ve purposed in my heart to change a few things. Take a for instance – wordpress. Because of this wonderful creation called blogging, I’ve decided to man up and boldly speak out what I believe. Everyone else is coming out of the closet. It’s my turn.
Case in point. The elections are heating up and everyone and their fifth cousin twice removed has an opinion. I for one know exactly how I will vote. All thanks to an article I read years ago – don’t know who wrote it or I’d give ’em credit – about being a “single issue” voter. Theory’s simple. Pick your one biggie and go with it. All the way to the voting booth. Well, for me its Israeal. OK, I’ve got two. Marriage. Now it’s a no-brainer. So in this land of the free and home of the brave, I thought I’d exercise a little of that freedom of speech and share my views, for anyone who’s interested. Yep, I swiped the following from a bff, but I have her permission. Pinky promise. I shortened it somewhat. Please forgive me if it comes across as somewhat ghetto. But it’s heartfelt.
Who will get my vote??
*I will vote for the most pro-life candidate, because God hates shedding of innocent blood ~ Proverbs 6:17
*I will vote for the most pro-Israel candidate, because God blesses those who bless Israel and curses those who don’t ~ Genesis 12:3
I will vote for the most pro-debt reduction candidate, because the borrower is servant to the lender ~ Proverbs 22:7
*I will vote for the most pro-work candidate, because God says if a man don’t work, he don’t eat ~ 2 Thessalonians 3:10
*I will vote for the most pro-marriage candidate, because God’s idea for marriage is good enough for me. He made it. Who is His creation to change it? ~ Genesis 2:24
*I will vote for the candidate who most closely believes government’s purpose is to reward good and punish evil ~ Romans 13
*I will vote based as closely as I can on God’s word ~ 2 timothy 3:16 ~ knowing that whoever gets elected, God is the One who puts all men in authority. Period. ~ Daniel 2:21
May God have mercy on America.
Like I said, I’ve really been doing a lot of soul-searching of late and I also found out something today that blew my mind. In a bad way. For those still unaware and uninitiated regarding the sad fate of many of the fairer sex I, as your sis in Christ, feel it my duty to enlighten you.
A British statesman once said that evil prospers when good men do nothing. Tell me, how can this exist in a nation that claims to be a world-leader in truth, justice and the American way? Namely, freedom for the oppressed? Will we really do nothing, and stand idly by while our beloved country goes down the tubes, or will we stand up and proclaim that God is STILL GOD in America? This die-hard people-loving God-worshipping bible-believing tongue-talking Word-walking gal will. How ’bout you?
