How do you change your world? One word at a time, one heart at a time

May I Introduce You?

DO YOU KNOW MY BEST FRIEND?

I met someone a while back and it changed my life. A carpenter turned itinerate preacher, who never travelled more than 200 miles from home. He rocked my world almost 20 years ago, and He’ll rock yours too, if you’ll let Him!

Dear reader, do you truly know Jesus as your Lord? Not just Saviour – nowhere does the Bible tell you to trust Him as Saviour – but Lord? Of your whole life? Holding nothing back?

If you’ve not accepted Him and the free gift He offers, I encourage you to do so. Today. You may already know that we’ve all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23. And we still do. We’re human. Every person ever born into this jacked-up world has broken God’s commandments. The penalty for breaking His laws is death. But death isn’t the end. You were created as a spirit, and a part of you will live forever. My question is – where?

The great thing is that in this life you get to choose your final destination. Ignore Him, and you’ll spend eternity separated from a loving heavenly Father who gave His life for yours, commonly known as hell. Or you can receive His free gift of Jesus, His Son, who took your place, and you’ll spend forever with Him, in heaven. You probably know John 3:16 says: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Well, I’m a whosoever. So are you. No prerequisites, other than sin. There’s something people call “the Romans Road”. Karified version? If you ask Him to be Lord of your life and mean it, then believe in your heart that He is who He says He is, and He can do what He says He can do, and you get to be His kid. Make peace with God, give your life to Him, let Him turn it into something beautiful. Pray this prayer out loud with me:

Heavenly Father, I know that I’m a sinner. I’ve broken Your commandments, and alienated myself from You. I want to know You, personally and intimately. I believe You love me and sent Your Son to die just for me. I believe Jesus is the Son of God, He died on the cross, and He was raised to life after 3 days. I confess my sins to You, and ask You to forgive me and cleanse me from them all. Come into my life and make me Yours. I choose today to follow You. Change my life, and make me new. Thank You Lord for giving me new life. In Jesus’ name, amen.

If you did, sincerely and on total faith, you have His assurance you’ve just been adopted into His family! Yeah! I’m so happy for you! You may or may not feel a thing, but God says we walk by faith and not by feelings. The next step is to find a good local church that preaches the true Bible, and get baptized. Go tell someone about the decision that you just made. Start reading His love letter to you, written in His own words. Talk to God in prayer every day. He’ll talk back. I promise.

Would you please send me an e-mail telling me? God says the angels rejoice in heaven when someone gives Him their life. He told me this a few months ago, and I’ve been off-the-hook excited ever since. Simple, but profound. Ready? “Party Time!!!” Took me a minute, but then I realized that’s 21st century, “rejoice”! So I’d love to party with you. In a good way. And personally welcome you into the family. With His presence in your life, you’ll never be the same! Pinky promise!

    • sorry mike and tc, i’m only just now getting this. i don’t get to come here as often as i used to, and i miss it. you’re the ones that move me, guys. i love your passion. don’t ever stop writing. martin luther once said, “if you want to change the world, pick up your pen.” that’s what started me writing again after giving up at the age of 14 because i listened to the nay-sayers. so once again, i encourage you guys to never stop writing. heidi baker once said, “never stop stopping for the one.” we can all have the ministry of reconciliation if we want to. don’t stop. k
